Quote from lambertttt :Hey, i downloader a xrg setup and i put it in c/documents/lfs/data/setups.
But when i started lfs up there where no setups only the standard ones..
Can some help me?
Greets,
Lambert!

I think that the problem is that is not in my documents folder that setups need to be, except if you installed LFS into that folder.

Quote from AccessibleGameBase :2. The version we used, had an issue with the automatic gearbox. We had to press the left-mouse click to activate it each race, and also found that when the car crashed, it would stay in a high gear, so you'd either pootle slowly around until you built up speed - or have to reset the game.

Its not an button to "activate" the automatic gearbox, you are putting into 1st gear to the car drive.

Quote from Ferrero Rocher :Meh, probably making a new car doesn't take two years. But this is a new tyre model. It's like the basis of the game. If the devs change that EVERYTHING else that's based on that has to change too. And since LFS is a driving game pretty much the entire game is affected by those changes.

But I think we're in for a pleasant surprise. Since it's taking this long there probably is more in the pipeline than announced.

Maybe Scawen thought: "**** it, since I'm changing the entire tyre model, why not implement wet weather driving while we're at it?"
Or maybe the changes in quality are so great that the team decided to go straight to S3 and they are working on content and features for that now.
Connected to the new tyremodel might be an overhaul of the force feedback too.
Or connected to the tyre model and FFB also: bumby tracks! So the laserscanning of Rockingham in great detail is not a waste of resources.

I admit that I get pretty sad everytime I visit this forum. I'm always hoping for news, but I'm always disappointed when there is none. I too fear that the development of LFS will bleed to death. Not the community, the community will remain.
But we must remember that what LFS does, it does very, very good. The base is great. There is no sim where I feel the weight of the car as good as in LFS. And a lot of people complain about the engine sound. But I love it. It is not designed to sound like you hear it on TV. Because it's not a simulation of sound like you hear it from your TV. It's a simulation of how engine sound reacts to changes in engine load. That is done very well and I hope they never change that because of people complaining like netKar did.

The basis and its discerning features are among the best in the business, and with a new tyre model they will be even better. The devs need to build on that very strong base to bring it to the next level.

I suspect LFS will go to the next level and deliver quality. I believe it. I hope it.

You said everything that i wanted to say in this thread. If they take 2 years to do something, its because something big gonna happen (i hope).

Quote from Bansky :Maybe we are expecting to less from the devs.
I belive there are big things in the pipeline.
Things wo don´t even think about atm.

Lets be patient, cause we don´t realy have another choice.
LFS is a big and living project wich we should be proud of being part of it.

Yes, and also, some (a lot) of users who frequent this thread should have played in demo by some years without money to buy an S1 or S2, so they could learn to race/drift/cruise because its fun, not because there is a new car, new track or new physics.

I think that i will try to do it, because it will be nice to me and to you (its a beautiful car). Just say, what car does you want, Will Power #12 (black details and Verizon logo), Ryan Briscoe #6 (white details and Team Penske logo) or Helio Castroneves #3 (red details and Team Penske logo)?

EDIT: For FBM already exists one from raikkonen4ever: http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=1203610#post1203610

A tip for the site: Put categories like hotlap/sprint/endurance. Even with FBM this make a lot of difference

Quote from Inouva :What point?, they are just trollin/spaming with nonsense

Ideas are made to have an sense, yours ideas are 75% nonsense. Trolling is made to be nonsense, so they are right and you not.

Talking serious, the CMX Viewer is just to see the skins, and also to see the car if you want. The roof on/off idea is good, but the others are useless.

Quote from Blue Badger :Hi,

Apologies in advance Im sure a lot of people ask this but Im struggling to get it the 1.34s and seem to be losing most of the time in the 1st sector. I only ever seem to get a 30.6 for the 1st split, 1.08 for the 2nd and 1.35.2 for the 3rd. Ive not been on LFS for long, any ideas why Im losing so much time in the 1st sector?

Thanks

At Hairpin, you need to do a slight drift, so you can enter the corner faster.
The chicane, you need to use a lot of 1st kerb, dont slip at 2nd and cut the 3rd kerb.

More than all, you need to practice, good times will come like magic...

Quote from kars19 :According to lfsw analyzer top speed is ...

XFG/XRG

BL1 straight = 185/190km/h
AS4R straight = 188/195km/h
KY1 oval = 192/201km/h

An XRG in good driving can do 200 km/h in BL1 straight + bumpdraft=higher speeds...
Unless the speedometer in XRG/XFG is wrong...

Quote from E.Reiljans :Slipstreaming can possibly get you to that speed (but your slipstreaming helper needs to be in a car that's faster on straights, XRG in case of demo).

Slipstream+Bumpdrafting can do it. The 2 cars gonna hit +200 km/h.

The big difference between a good and a slow lap is:

1. Dont smash the throtle, if you make a turn with care, even though you think you're slow, you'll do a 1:07 2nd split...

2. The 3rd split. I can do a 1:07 2nd split but my pb is 1:34.48, the big difference in the lap is the 3rd split.

To me, quicly we just need: No real time damage information in F10 menu and no repair big damages, like suspension or body...
After, different parts have different resistance... cars are not more made from aluminium...
